Up the west is the best in my experience, the other side is right on the blocks boundary. Come out the hut door and scurry around the steep part on the west side to head south while staying out of the river, then up that spur to the tops. As per the blue line.

Good bench’s right up the eastern side, particularly in the red area.

Used to see a few wallows just north of the red marked area down by the river.
