yip sow in heat will do it....twice Ive come across it... first time we heard what went on from close range and the dogs wore it....2nd time I watched from a far...my two dogs had two pigs bailed,I called dog off top pig ,the boar and it went to help its mate on the sow which was 50-70 yards further down hill...I had hoped boar would piss off so I could get sow...he stood there....having heard what happened in earlier incident I called dogs off and went home...one of the few times I didnt have rifle with me.... the first boar, and I believe the 2nd was about to do same...waited till dogs busy then charged downhill into the fray with momentum on his side and scattered dogs in all directions....stuff that for a game of soldiers.
