That forestry on the Raglan side has been getting logged on and off for a few years, up high on the range its very average quality wood as well. With the log price fluctuating so much this year it's hard to know one month to the next what the loggers are doing. I hear differing reports on whether access up the raglan range road is permitted or not, never tried due to the on again off again logging going on.

The boulder forks hut track used to be a fairly rough trek in but a digger was put through right to the hut earlier this year, restoring the road where it was blown out by the stream just near the hut. Haven't been up since but mates tell me its much more user friendly now.

I went up to Boulder forks today. The road is fine there.
This is the "bridge" across to the Branch. Open from 12:00pm Fridays to 8:00am Mondays.

I walked up to the saddle along the fence line ( @woods223 @300wsm for life is faster than me too). Ended up knocking over a few goats in the head of Station creek.

You are probably right with your time. I was quite a way up and thought that 1:15 was going to be about right. Then I started seeing deer so stopped and watched for a while. Ended up seeing 3 on the way up.

You could take a 2wd up the Branch. They have been logging it. Up to Bottom Gordons is a bit tricker (past Barbers) but the stock Prado handled it no worries.
