The database info has been deleted. Just a blank page now. Talked to CEO who’s investigating how it happened.

Check that this site / file has not been archived. If you could find it with Google, the chances are high that it could get crawled, and subsequently archived for posterity.

The WayBack machine URL to check for archived sites: https://archive.org/web/

The company still needs to be hauled over the coals for permitting the blatant breach of privacy to occur. AND the directors taken to task. ONLY then will other company directors stand up and take notice. Privacy breach, potentially endangering the public et al. BIG fine, company publicised etc etc. Otherwise they'll do the "yeah, nah, won't happen to us".

The sad thing is they'll probably just bin the hunting permits and shut the gates putting it in the to hard basket.

You should tell them they have a week to notify people publicly. If they don't then you should pass on who it is to both the media and here. People have a right to know if their private information has been compromised.

Depending on what specific data is exposed my understanding is mandatory reporting is required. If for example contact details etc are in public view this would meet reporting criteria. Needs to be reported or discussed with more than the company CEO.

Timberlands are only one company, manage about 200000ha. There’s others such as OneFortyOne who would probably leap at the opportunity to stop public access to forests, they’ve been playing that trick a bit lately.
