MMy Hunting Days Come to an End
I started my big game hunting on my August 25 (12th) birthday in 1959 a mile away where I ended it this last Friday, and the quarry was the same, Pronghorn Antelope. My expert hunter grandson was there to see a crazy-long shot. The "goat" dumped forward onto his bottom jaw and fractured it. His left horn curl had been broken in a fight with another buck.
I made the shot of my life with my familiar FN Supreme custom 30-06 in a Brown Precision Pound'r stock. I turned 78 now and am hanging it up. It's been a great run, I have a lot of T-shirts, and now a freezer full of delicious antelope.
Life has been good.
