    More Roo Shooting

Out again today before I'm back to work Monday. This time with one of my favorite rifles that I've recently had reconfigured to what is for me the best alround hunting package.
Had @KiwiGreg rebarrel my Lone Peak Razor Ti to 6mm CM and thanks to @AndyAnimal for getting NF prices over here to reasonable levels I've topped it off with a 2.5-10x42 in mil shooting the 108gr ELD-M's

I managed one @397m today but think I'm more pleased with the 2 I got @329m one after the other. Unfortunitly I knocked the camera when getting ready for the shots so missed getting it on film!!
But here are a couple of quick videos.

Dreamer.....Have those 108 eld m loaded up for my 6mm creed, may end up using them on wallaby, do you reckon there a good choice??? Assuming most of them would leave an exit hole.???

Have some of the hornady 80gr eld vt which was gonna be my preferred load but with limited testing so far they havent shot great.....

Roos easy enough to kill but the softer, more explody the projectiles the better. Don't fret the exit hole thing. If they do,that's great,if they don't it means projectiles has dumped everything it's got inside animal ,also great.

They are an excellent projectile for everything full stop! The 108’s.
I don’t bother having a different projectile for shooting roo’s as I see it being very beneficial to use the same rifle and load as you’d use on 4 legged critters. The best way to learn your shooting system and good practice as well.

    Very cool!
Did you look into the digital scopes at all for what you're doing? With the built in ballistics and video recording, would they an option for you?
If i could have a full time job shooting pests i'm up for over time.

I agree- wicked rifle. Been looking in to trying out shooting some roos lately. Figure it might be a good day hunt activity when time is a bit limited

Travel down.walk, sit and glass to locate them. Cold frosty mornings are gold as they come out into sun on bush edge to warm up.

No I haven’t. Not really my thing. I’m not doing the film thing all the time just the last couple of wallaby hunts.

Awesome, thanks for the tips. I just need to get out and explore in general. Might even try bringing the dog out from time to time- missus wants a break from the both of us sometimes so good excuse to go out and hit the hills haha

I was blown away at how good they are as day scopes and with the lrf, ballistics and night vision for about $1600 is an unbelievably good bit of kit without using the video function. If you did want to video ours only a couple presses of a button, worth looking into if you wanted to change scopes

To be fair there is some frigging around with day/night scopes and going back to an ordinary scope is relaxing. Even during day time. And with the day/night scope at night it gets a little bit more complex and annoying. Pushing buttons you cant see and remembering what they all mean... it's like a first shag in the back of a mini at 17.

All the while knowing that the smart people are tucked up in bed.

Restraint is the better part of dignity. Don't justify getting even. Do not do unto others as they do unto you if it will cause harm.

I would have settled for a shag anywhere at 17!
