Post Morning routine - how long before out hunting from waking

Random question I know but it takes me bloody ages in the morning from waking to breakfast/coffee sussing my pack, farting about checking things again before I'm actually out with a headlamp heading off.

Keen to know how fast / slow some of y'all are so, how long does it take you to be up and going in the mornings in the following situations:

    A) Hunting from a hut

    B) Hunting from a tent camp but not breaking down camp

    C) Hunting from a camp and breaking it down to move location.

    cheers

I always pack my day bag that night, so either from camp or hut its - Wake up - Get up & get changed - grab bag & go (sometimes coffee then go)

I find packing your gear the night before lets you think about what you will need rather than packing in the dark half asleep and forgetting stuff with the added time pressure to get out there and be on the spot when it counts.

I can't answer your question precisely, but everything seems to take longer now! Agree about getting as much as possible ready the night before.

hmmm yeah bloody long days aye

Im usually off with a headlamp trying to get to my glassing spot 30 mins before it even starts getting light so I'm not moving when the animals start becoming visible.

My go to from a hut is pack my bag the night before and get up, get changed, sort rifle, and then out the door with an OSM bar in hand to get going. Ditch the coffee in my opinion as it is time you could spend sleeping.

If in a tent I finalise packing my bag the morning of which take a bit more time, but essentially the same.

In the earlier years up at the crack of dawn stalking as soon it was light. Then LED lights get up a hour or two before l would cook breakfast then walk to the nearest clearing, creek or river bed for a early deer. Now with a dog and long range shooting, the dog will find a deer any time of the day stalking so no hurry have breakfast in the sun and long range I can shoot a deer from camp and have another coffee.

If I'm doing a serious hunting trip the gear will be ready the night before and breakfast walkin to the hotspots before sunrise. I'm a very relaxed hunter now days no need to rush around and do a injury been there done that. Will leave that for the young fallas.

    A) 1hr as I like to have a hot breakfast and coffee. Have daypack and hunting clothes all laid out the night before.
    B) 1 1/4 hr cos everything takes longer cooking from in my pit. Im usually stalking slips etc first thing. No point bush hunting till its fully light and I can see in colour.
    C) 2 hr cos taking down fly, packi g up pack, clearing up rubbish, waiting for others.

Personally, I don't take alot of time in the morning. I don't like eating right away, and normally have my first food around 10-11am after the morning's glassing. I reckon a morning coffee first thing is a waste of time. Caffeine acts on the adenosine system which isn't active for 60-90 minutes after waking, so you're better to save that cup of coffee for when you're on the hill enjoying that morning sun.

No idea but breakfast is a must, I simply can't function without food and end up making stupid mistakes if hungry.

Sleep in. Get up. Cook up a big breakfast of bacon, eggs, pita pocket and cheese with some hot sauce. Brew a nice instant coffee (I know). Or water in the Hubbards Granola with cranberry/milk powder and macadamia nuts. Leisurely put on the hunting gear and bumbag. Grab the rifle as I walk out the door/tent, at whenever o'clock in the morning. Why? Because I have a dog, so any time is a good time to go hunting.

Think back, we've all had our mentors that taught us the basics, kept us keen.
What time & how long did they take ? What was solid grounding tried and true back then, is still so today, and you can answer your own question from the knowledge bank of life.

I do know that it was always easier to get up at 3.30am to go pighunting than getting up at 6am to go to work... Go figure....

I found eating an OSM bar or two for breakfast sped things up. Hot coffee and a bar as you head out.
A sleep in and a casual easing into the day has its merits too.
