I always thought a Hummel was a ladyboy/hermafradite ..spelt wrong but you know what I mean...has both bits.
uncle shot roaring red..it had one of everything...
we had cow who would roar like a bull and rode all the other cows, never got in calf....assume she had male genes and possibly a tucked up ball.
Ive seen sheep with vagina in centre of belly instead of a pizzle....
your deer will be good eating whatever gender it considered itself.

Ive seen one a few years ago in the roar. Didnt shoot it because i first thought it was a massive hind following two other hinds.
That was up the Hope saddle in the bush there. That deer thou looks young in the picture so not sure if thats one or not

That is last years fawn, just starting to grow his spikes. Will be a year old in late Nov. Superb eating and an easy carry

My immediate thoughts as well, looked very juvenile & short in the skull length

They get that strong pizzled up smell over winter, even hinds & yearlings, because they piss on themselves while bedded down to Save using energy to stand up when food is scarce.

    Cheers guys.
Guess I was thrown by the bigger size than the normal yearlings I get from this area combined with the well developed ball sack.
Better pics and a bit more time looking it over may have helped but at the time I was just focused on boning it out and getting out before it pissed down

A game camera photo I got of a suspected hummel last year. Definitely not a young animal.
