Took the boy (grandson) out to our hut yesterday for the night. Turned out that we hunted a block that had only been mustered the day before which is never a good idea. Any rate, seen nothin to shoot at last night but this morning in a new direction was a whole different story. Up at 4.30 and on the hill at 5ish just as the sky was lighting up in the east. Hinds and fawns everywhere once the light allowed a bit of glassing. Sidled round up high when the young fella says, 'Grandad, over there". Sure enough, 2 big fat velvety stags. Into action and a bit of elevation adjustment on the turret, attach the bipod, just below the ear I tell him, and off goes the wee 50 Gr soft point. And now there's only one velvety stag runnin around. Just poleaxed him, very impressive
