Thread: North Island Hunting help

Hey guys,

Names aron, new to the whole forum thing. Just after a little help or advice. Been hunting for about 10years now, but do most of that down in the wellington area.
The main reason for this post is to see if there is any spots that can be reccomended for me to give a go near the auckland area? Not after ya secret spots just somthing closer than welly.
Second question is, is there anybody Auckland based that would be keen to add a hunting buddy to their list?? All my main hunting mates are down in the welly area, and 99% of the auckland boys i know drink latte's, get manicures and are not keen on the whole bush thing.
Ive got all the gear to be an independent hunting buddy just want to get out there a bit more!!

I head out in the Uruweras from the Rotorua end a bit and whether I walk for half an hour or a whole day to get to somewhere to camp, more often or not I will come across a fair bit of sign. Actually finding the animals is proving a tad more difficult but they are obviously there. Could be worth a shot?

pureora is reasonably close.... a few hours drive.......animals there just not as easy as clements city

On the shore to man. Theres a few of us dotted around.
Do love a good latte, but dont mind slogging through a bit of bush also. Not a huge amount up here as far as I can figure, good thing the central NI is only a drive away I suppose.

Im always keen to get out. Im down hunting for the weekend but would be keen to sus another winter mish in a month or so.

was gonna do a day trip to piropiro this weekend ....but work commitments have taken priority.....maybe not till august now maybe sooner , I generally don't plan too far ahead always have gear ready to go if I get free time and the weather looks ok. definitely going nov/dec sometime as I know where the xmas veni is at that time.

Keep me in the loop would be keen on anybody that will let me tag along
