NZ visitors fireams licence - contact

I'm coming over at the end of the month to go Tahr hunting with a mate - I was too preoccupied sorting out the multitude of forms to leave Australia with fireams and forgot to fill out the online form for the NZ f/arms import and visitors hunting license. I just completed the form online but on the webpage I noticed that it states that you should do this a month before you travel - I fly out in 2 and half weeks.

I was going to ring whoever the relevant NZ police area are tomorrow to see if they'll consider my application now. I tried to find a contact number , but no luck. Has anyone got the contact details for who I should ring or email?

I would just give this station a call as its probably where its being processed, they will happily transfer your call to the right person

It was probable the the cleaner regular AO staff are out the door before the knock off bell has stopped ringing

You don't need to complete it before you arrive. It helps, but not needed.

I just rocked up at the airport with $25

    How recently was that ?

I got caught out in October 2015 thinking the same thing because I had made several trips to NZ as a visitor and got a permit at Auckland airport with no advance / online application.

That was leaving from the US on Air New Zealand and all airlines share the same data on entry / exit regulations.

Best to check the NZ Police web site for Visitor Firearms Permits.
