If I was going for a tramp in Matahuru off Ohinewai, would it be worth being armed?

To be clear, I'm nit looking for an amazing hunting area, just I'd be passed if I saw a goat and didn't have me boom stick.

Could be worth while. I just had a look on the DOC website.

Is it crossing farmland to get to the reserve or is it a marked track?

Marked track that intersects with road. Apparently a 2-day track with the road in the middle, I.e. one day each way from the road. Thinking of starting there and doing a 2-day return south then if that's nice coming back to do the north section.
