Was in there for 6 days mid November. Great hut. We saw virtually no fresh sign in the block except for a bit in the bush going through the bush saddle looking toward the burn. We hunted high, low, sidled, tried everything. Were gone from hut by just after 5 every morning sometimes not getting back til late arvo. Chris told us the burn( bounds Ngamatea) on the western side of the block is good but quite hard to get to. We were too early for the growth but in saying that we saw a mob of 8 hinds and yearlings feed to within 200 yards or so of the trig on the high point which is the boundary on the map. Ngamatea have cameras set over there so beware of exactly your boundary as they prosecuted 2 guys that shot 4 stags there a while ago. We also saw 2 young stags in hard antler out at 11:00 one day plus about 6-7 other deer scattered around the bush edge regularly. Spotting scope helps as it's quite a long way. Need to fly camp but water may be a problem. Hope this may help. Good luck
