Always worth a look, theres also a couple of gullies up the gorge road that have public access signs if you prefer a little bit more open than the bush. And theyre on the sunny side for a morning walk. Also worth a good yomp up Little Peel, about half an hour short of the top duck off the northern [sunny] side and find a spot to just sit and watch. Check Google Earth to find the scrubby faces just . below the bush. Have watched a number of deer out feeding there in the scrub as the sun comes up, and then watched them continue to feed as early trampers climb Little Peel 100 metres above them on the track.

Def a few tahr and the odd deer in Peel Forest. Each catchment will be holding at least an animal or two, although I’ve found most hang around actual Mt Peel which is trickier to get to. Nice steep scrubby country, will have you cussing pretty quick

went up boundary creek. reasonable walk in, the wasement was a mess. snow melt running downhill has the easement a muddy mess, quite deep in places. ended up returning uphill off the easement. left the truck at 6.30am. minus 2 deg C. crossed stream as wasement merged with old farm track. once into the PL at track end, climbed up to 830m. watched the tops, gulleys and bush until after lunch then came down by 2pm.

    no luck.Name: 20250804_111521.jpg
