Picked up a red yesterday at Ararimu...

Hit him with a 147gn ELDM in the neck.
(Instant lights out). Yes i know thats meant to be the target version but l like heavy bullets and they dont have an X yet for 6.5s in this weight. The gun in the pic is my 45-70 that i hunt with normally but on this occation i had my target T3 sporter with me too. Was having a bit of a go with a DIY blind and it went really well.

    Bloody good work.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Nice job but which ararimu, I shot a couple when we lived in the south auckland one 20 plus years ago, but they were escapees from a deer farm. There were never any that established in the ranges back then.

Yep its the Auckland one near Ramarama. Just north of Bombay. I hear they sometimes wander out of the Hunua ranges and onto the surrounding properties.
This was on a property that i regularly blast away on. The weekend before i had some mates along and we took a bunch of hares and bunnies. This one might have been deaf eh
