I find the 2506 very easy to hit things with. I could see the hit on the spiker but with a higher recoiling calibre I would not. With a 131 gr bullet the recoil will be up to much the same as a 270 with 130's - it will be slightly less because of a slightly lower powder charge at a guess.
High velocity makes the 25's with flat trajectory. The spiker was shot with a 110 AB. Hole straight through so why do I need to go heavier ?. What went wrong with the 400mtr Tahr out of interest @southernman ??
I'm going to use 120s in .260 for the same reason. With bigger cals I don't sight the hit but see the animal on the ground kicking or trying to get up
