    Private North Island block

I have been asked my someone I owe a favour to..."whats a good private block that doesn't cost to much"

I have no Idea realy as the only private stuff I do isn't "for hire". I have shown him the Tongariro site and Heli Sika sites.... Not sure exactly when they want to go?

It will be a group of three or four and two are not that mobile with old rugby injuries etc.....so not too steep or expensive as they are not rolling in it, So he is asking alot. I have heard of a couple of spots on the east coast but can't find where I had the info....

Someone had the woolshed they hired out too from memory but I never paid that much attention as I just wouldn't have used it....but would be perfect for this crew :-/

    PM if you prefer...

Tataraakina? Not mountainous but nor is it flat. Not pricey and you could take a quad in. Can't remember exactly what blocks were named. Fairly good animal numbers.

Tataraakina sounds perfect - good huts, well tracked, fair animal numbers, with some very good hunting if you get off the beaten track. Fair price too

I went there are couple of years ago, I was on the 'whanau' block (the closest to the road). The hut had running water and I'm pretty sure a flush toilet. I only stayed overnight, saw one but was to slow. They were open September/October and then March/April/May. I have heard that they have had some access issues as of late - something to do with a bridge. I took a few pics I'll try to find them.

    Hope that helps,

    Rich

The bridge over the Waipunga was condemned but there is a ford you can cross (the bridge is still there, and took a SWB Safari loaded to the gills the other day)
