    Rakaia River Head Waters

    One rain gauge has had 228mm(8 1/4 inchs) of rain since midnight so far.Plus a few other catchment area rain gauges.Rakaia has risen very quickly.
    Take care out there this weekend.

    Peaked at 1775 cumecs yesterday, now back down to 676 already. Still too high to be mucking around up there.

    Last year in April i seen 4 stags with out hesitation just trot into about 300 cu/secs of fast flowing water and swim across at about 45 degrees to the other side.It was quiet deep and narrow bit of water.
    Bloody impressive swimmers i thort.
