All i know is around 70-80 cu/sc good for salmon fishing, not crossing river.Enviroment Canterbury web site have river flows for Rangi and every other river in Canterbury.Rangi at the moment around 85 cu/scs.With good fine weather over the next few days, river flow should only get lower till Wednesday evening.

Rangitata is usually all good at 70 cumec's. If youre experienced and prepared to wait things out if it all turns to shit, then 80 cumec's is doable. But not recommended unless you have a second vehicle. People often look at the Ecan river levels and think that 80 is bugger all more than 70, should be good to go. What they dont take in to account is the Rangi is a much narrower watershed than many other rivers and that extra 10 can really fuck you up if its a bad day.

This website gives you all of NZ's river flows if they have a gauge in them. Extremely useful.
