Where a bouts is this hut?ive been up horomanga,galatea, a bit and alot of further east coast hunting,just backyard bush bashing with a tent none of this hut nonsense hahaha im so keen havent been for a hunt in a while as ive moved to hamilton and dont know anyone here hahah was born and raised in whakatane so have contacts for blocks

Yea lol on the low down there is some nice spots up waioekea/opotiki way aswel my friends plus access through ruatoki valley to national park through closely guarded mates lol

Through ruatoki?gotta watch out for those tuhoe terrorists ayehahaha wont need to talk to them my friend,they be long time friends...was up there 2years ago and seen some awesome sign like deer were running circles around us haha

Wicked! Could you give me a PM (when you have the time) about where, when etc? We'll keep both options open for now until we pinned down the finer details but if you could get me the deets that would be great.

Sorry for hijacking your thread Gutshot. In the next couple days I'll start a thread in the upcoming events section to plan this trip. Things can get confusing when the threads get too lengthy so I'm going to wait till I can draw up a rough plan before I outline it so I can keep the whole thing succinct. If you have any suggestions or council (i know nothing of the area and have never hunted rusa), PM me or wait till the thread comes up and post it on there.
