Thread: Scope power for hunting

Farthest whitetail was 540 yards and had the scope set on 10 because it gave the best sight picture. Could have gone to 14 but did t need to. Seeing the animals reaction at the shot is a priority for me.

I have a 3-9 Super Chicken on my 6.5 Grendel and was shooting a 6” steel at 600 yards with it easily on 9. I need to get out and nail down my drops for the load I have but it’s been below zero at night and double digits for highs but it’s muzzleloader season at the moment and that’s priority for horns. Next weekend is antlerless so hopefully by then I have the DoPE I need, if not I’ll just keep things to 300 or less.
