Thread: Seeking Hunting Mentor

Hi again guys, with the roar starting to get underway, I am by no means asking anyone to take me under there wing over the next couple of months. What i am asking though is after this period has settled down, is there anyone out there in the Wellington/Kapiti region that would be interested in teaching me the finer details of deer hunting and bush craft?

I have only been hunting a couple of years down Christchurch area but have just moved north for work. The hunting that I was doing wasn't stalking as such on private land (was governed to hunt the way the people i were with i.e mostly spotlighting.) which got me meat but I don't feel that i really learned anything to help become a true deer stalker. Had 2 Thar hunts up the Rangitata river with minor success and extremely enjoyed every minute of it!

Im 32 yrs old so a late starter to this but just as eager as anyone younger, have all my own gear to be able to fly camp for a day or 2.

To prove my character to anyone willing I am more than prepared to go on a few hunts without my rifle just to be apart of the experience and prove im a safe hunter and can be trusted. Im not looking for peoples spots more their knowledge. I have thought about joining NZDS but unshore for some reason.

Long story short, I am eager to lean from experienced hunters to help me become one myself and am willing to put in the hard yards and time to achieve this. If anyone is interested pm me and I will be shore to reply.
