Stags were very vocal last Wednesday, the most roaring action I've experienced, let a few young sika 8pts go in search of a big one. Ended up shooting 2 hybrids.

That's a sweet looking rifle setup mate. What's the stock? Is that a Night Force also?

Yip one of fisherman's carbon stocks, and a NF SHV 4-14 ffp. Certainly does the job, tad long in the scrub but ok.

Nice mate. What do those hybrids sound like when they roar? Can you tell they are a hybrid by the roar? Cheers
It varies but they sound like a wounded bull when they hee-haw, quite gravely sounding too.

Had got the satellite stag, young 8 pt 3 days before, and was a little bit happy when he came in.

The story behind this guy is what I'll remember the most - chased him for three weeks, eventually found a way into his lair, hobbited in, found him and did the deed. Apparently not a bad head for the northern Pureoras.
