    Stags and Bucks 2025

3 roars in a row of hunting this public land area, coming up empty.
This guy was holding hinds, and no good head despite his age, so right one to take I guess.
My first roaring stag too. @Micky Duck - was on big slip.

dont under estimate that stag mate, nothing wrong with that fella mate he's a good bush stag-Any deer bush hunted is a trophy esp that guy he would have been a stealthy old beast. He is more of a hunters trophy than a farm edge 12!Well played.

This guy came into a roar. A few heehaws over night but pretty quiet during the day. Looking forward to some rain this weekend, dry as in the bush.

Took a 50cal cap lock to the Tops for a few days. Homemade powder, ball and patch. Figured he was a good one to take out of the Gean pool. Name: Tops.jpg

I reckon your wrong, any red with decent antler genetics should have at least 10 well developed tines preferably 12. Sometimes the tops may not have developed totally.

How do you think they get to be 10 or 12 points, by growing older and aging. Classic case of a young animal, probably first year with actual antlers, thin antlers small body and very high pedicle and coronets.

Yes he’s a 2 year old by the looks of it and also looks a very even 8,chances are he would have grown into an even 12 in a few years.

Thats a great pic. What sort of delay is there between pulling the trigger and the thing going off? What was the range?
    Cheers
