    Surprising find

The Stags have started roaring so I took the young fella out to try and get a stag. We spotted a nice one and managed to close the distance and make a great one shot kill. Smiles all round. . As I'm processing the carcass I recovered my bullet, 150gn ELD-X under the skin on the off side. Here's where it gets interesting. Sitting under the shoulder blade on the other shoulder is another bullet!. Completely healed, no bruising or infection. Obviously not the first time that stag had been shot. Best guess is someone took a quartering shoot that deflect ed off a rib and stopped under the shoulder blade.

Shot a hind a few years back. When butchering it, recovered a bonus bullet that had broken its femur previously. It was resting up against the bone encased in scar and connective tissue. The bone was fully healed with a 45 degree kink and a protrusion poking out from where it hadn't set cleanly. You'd have never guessed from watching her walk around.

Ha ha ha ha Mrs Songhurst’s little boy Ryan might take exception to that comment.

Looks like 7mm or 308. couldn't be 270 unless it had taken another animal prior.

I skinned a goat about 17 years or so ago in skippers and it had a round ball on its hind leg. Was like someone just pushed it in there, i kept it for a few years and misplaced it. It was minimally deformed and at a guess was a .38.
The old black powder club must have gone for a wee walky.
