She went to the works eventually.
She was live capture and tangled in a fence, in those days it was worth paying a vet to amputate.
She had a fawn every year so she got to live....

The tag will have a farm number on it. That number can be traced to the farm it was bred on and then records will show if it was ever transported of that farm to another.

The only information you will be able to gain from the tag (if it is a AHB or NAIT tag) will be the farm on which it was first tagged and possibly the year it was tagged. The animal may have been on a truck twenty times, but there will not be any record of that. Very slim chance it will be a NAIT tag as they have only been out a couple of years (for deer).
Fair point but I have records of every animal I have bred and where it went to from here.

The fawn would have been 'planted', usually some distance from where the hind will graze...it wouldnt go anywhere without the dam.

    Sorry i missed this post.

Probably a bit tough because she had only recently given birth and is or was being sucked dry by a hungry fawn.
3 days is not much ageing, plenty for a young animal in good nick and putting condition on but an animal doing it hard or looseing condition(like a hind feeding a new fawn) can do with more time, even 10 days.
If you don't have a chiller hang it as long as you dare then break it down and continue to age in the fridge.
