Thread: Taking Firearms into Queensland

A lot of paperwork, you should be able to download it from the Queensland Police website, start the paperwork trail approx. 4 months out from going over. You will need an export permit from Aussie customs, you can get that info from there website. Getting them in and out of NZ is the easy part.

Queensland Police will issue you with a temporary firearms license and B709 entry/exit permit, you'll need to get onboard with Aussie Customs and apply for an export number etc.

Don't forget to apply to NZ police for an import permit - that's the easy part, and what ever you do don't hand carry any firearm part as hand carry, bolt knob or anything.

Apply to whatever airline you are flying with well in advance and get there approval, print off several hardcopies and take with you, don't rely on anything verbal, make sure you have everything in writing.
