Looks like this weekends plans have changed. i can live with it but does mean i am heading out next Saturday early doors.
Plan to be in Te Kuiti about 5/6 am. Depending on the hunting and sign will depict when to head back to Hamilton.
Happy to work in with people as the target species has not changed, still goat but think the early doors will open more opportunities (read as luck)
Cheers and enjoy your long weekend.
This may change very short notice depending how work goes tomorrow! Chur

LOL I dont have it @Gibo
how did you get on with the goat hunting willie ?
Nothing down there Adam, certainly no goats.
Ran in to one of the guys from a local farm and had a chat. Looks like 1080 has knocked the crap out of it. Someone had gotten something as there was a red deer hoof right where we parked.
Checked the hut book and someone had some luck over xmas time but not a lot.
Small amount of sign and somewhere that once the stock has recovered i would go and have a look at again.
No goats though.

Leitch Road/Hut was our favorite goat area down that way. We shot so many in the 1990's I lost count. There might still be some around and maybe one day I will go back in for a look. The hut is nice enough in good weather and the walk in is easy. I think it used to have a wet-back for the fireplace which was a bit different.
