    Te Ureweras

    So has anyone here tried to renew their licence to include Te Urewera NP ?

    Seems that one will have to apply to the Board for a permit and not DOC

    Hmmm interested to see how easy / difficult the process becomes.
    It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
    What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
    Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
    Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
    Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
    Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
    Rule 5: Check your firing zone
    Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
    Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

    Got mine on 30th June, and no problems. Valid until 29th Oct. It just says "Te Urewera" - no mention of National Park.

    If you already have a 'valid' one, ive 'heard' if you renew it, it will go through again......worth a try, ive never hunted there!!!!

    ok tried renewing mine but te urawera isn't on it any more ive just sent an email to the board so ill see how it goes.. im not after your secret spots but any one got a good place to try that's a similar distance from Auckland that I can try being able to camp would be an advantage as well. Ill keep you informed how this application goes

    i got an email back and basicly no permits are being issued until they figure out how they will work it
