Yes the 008 is a good unit depending on what you are doing across the board as they say.
The 008 I found takes a bit as well to adapt to, the field of vision is more narrow than the 007 but still OK, the pard 008 start magnification is 6.5 and for me thats a bit much in close quarters, and I just like to use the normal scope in the day.
The 007 goes from one rifle to the other with out adjustment, the 008 can do this! but I think the mount is expensive to do that.
If you spend all night lifting and looking the 008 can be hard going. Where the 007 can be removed for comfortable searching and placed back on the scope in one movement when used to it. Some times I just use a red led to spot the eyes turn off the light and continue with the scope setting up and follow up.
They both have their points also the 008 is water proof to a good degree and the 007 is not. I always carry a plastic bag with me been rained on a few times.
They are both the best price wise at present. I've been using one for over a year now, it's transformed the way I hunt and the proof is a numbers game.
The UK users! some run a hand held thermal as the spotter, but the real ID comes in identifying it with the eye not a heat source and that's another subject.
Which those who have used thermal on small game will have a story as its a learning curve as well.
