Sperlunking, or whatever its called when mentally challenged people for some reason decide to dive down into the source of a river underground.

Nothing that exciting, not sure whether to spill the beans yet or see what other inventive ideas come up!

Nothing cave/underground related, water related... Should probably spill beans as its probably not something people will guess but it's entertaining seeing the head scratching

I understand that some remote river flow level sensors use LPG to drive their drum recorder charts so I'd guess either that sort of caper or charging up a weather balloon

Doesn't look too fresh, very well could have been from the rut or velvet.
Some deer particularly young idiots rub all year. I've seen little 8 pointers smashing trees in July

Sika, reds or fallow in the area? I often find fresh scrapes and rubbings right through from Feb-June mainly in sika country. I always assumed that they just give the trees a good hiding both while stripping velvet and when worked up during the rut. I have never seen them smashing trees during the rut but have heard it a number of times, heard it just two weeks ago. Its not unusual to find fresh rut sign at this time of year.
