    Unguided hunting?

Hey guys, long shot I know but does anyone know of anywhere that does unguided meat hunts? Deer goats pigs? in the north island? My old man recently got into hunting in his late 60s and I'm pretty keen to take him out for a "easy" hunt for his first animal, Ide take him on doc land but the walk ins would probably kill him, cheers any help gratefully appreciated

Few places in Wanganui region do fallow hunts, don't know how "controlling" they are, few on here use them for easy meat.

Take a look at Hunting Hq. https://huntinghq.com/directory/ I have used them and had excellent results.

Only heard of shit experiences through them. Mate booked in pre roar to take his dad. Guys before left as they arrived. They had bombed the property up with thermals for 3 days. Owner didn't give 2 shits.

look at it from land owners point of view...they want animals shot, and its in the permitted bits if thermals or dogs etc are OK....

Used to be more too but as predicted their modus operandi is very fragile due to relying on the behaviour of unsupervised clients on farm properties and I have heard of a few farmers who are now very unlikely to allow any further access due to this

Interesting. My personal experience with HuntingHQ has been positive but I guess there will always be a certain level of responsibility that is expected from the hunters. I think there is also differing attitudes of the land owners. Some wish to manage their game animal resource and some are just using the hunters as free of charge cullers.
However this kind of thing can happen anywhere, including public land and private hunting blocks. There will always be a small element of mongrels out there who don't give a shit about land owners, other hunters or the animals they hunt. It would be a shame if this sort of thing put people off what I think is a great concept.

There were a few spots advertised on TM during the roar. Dont know how good or bad, but Wanganui area for Fallow has been well known for years. Easy hunting, as in "shoot them from the track"

You knew Puhoi right. Go to town and ask who is the man helping manage those small blocks for neighbors. If you could reach him, then you go from there. Not much to hunt, only pigs and goats. Good luck
