As above I am no expert and I will happily be corrected with citation but I am fairly sure a "Humel" is the result of lack of testosterone being produced, stags castrated in velvet stage never harden and strip and stags castrated before sexual maturity never develop antlers.

This is all just from my foggy forgettery but I am sure a stiff googling will clear it all up.

Likewise I'm no oracle on deer, but I was told by a well-known expert that a Humel is the result of an animal who suffers significant damage to the testicles early in life, be it during birth, an accident, or during a fight. The lack of testosterone inhibits the growth of antlers and instead the animal bulks up and will usually be noticeably larger - so yes, pretty much as @veitnamcam stated above.

I guess they would probably also be cross-eyed and walk funny.
