    Wallaby Hutning

    Just a vid of last years family wallaby hunt. we go down to a mates farm every year to try reduce his wallaby numbers.

    Welcome to the forum JP100. Great video. Looks a lot of fun.
    It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
    What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
    Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
    Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
    Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
    Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
    Rule 5: Check your firing zone
    Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
    Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

    Looks like you had fun alright JP. The shot at 2m.39 looks a little dodgy though - I doubt I would have taken it as the roo appears to be on the skyline with low cloud behind that?

    I hunted wallaby a lot around Rotoma during the 80's .... on a good night we could account for 100 or so with the spotlight a shotty and the Brno fox

    Can't seem to get any access around there these days but I would think there are still good numbers.

    I found they were very good eating too.

    Wallaby is a red meat like venison or beef and I cook it in a similar fashion

    Medium rare back steaks are delicious

    Hey we were shooting on private property of 65 000 acres so we were pretty sure no one was behind there.

    thanks guys. yea it is alot of fun. we are lucky enough to have friends who own a large property down waimate way.
    We have never been brave enough to eat one haha. they are full of worms and dont look that nice but will have to try some next time
