yesterday. We've been watching Hokitika properties for nearly a year now just waiting for the right place to come up. It'll happen, we're freehold here and pre approved for a nice sum in Hokitika and the plan was (and still could be) to buy in Hoki and rent it out for a year or two...then move over.
We could also purchase in Hoki and move over straight away and rent Pines Beach out...or we can just sell it.

My mumsie in law has just sold her house in Hari Hari, she has a self contained shed on 15 acres mostly bush just south of HH so that's our only accommodation now down there not counting the family hut further down a river. @XR500 you've still got somewhere to base yourself if down that way again

But we're over our jobs, happy to give up the company cars and move to Hokitika by Xmas or early new year.
At the end of the day every opportunity we have we head to HH and that's a 4.5 hr drive from here...only 45 mins from Hoki. I'm 63 in April and gonna retire on Winstons card when I'm 65 not that that will compensate for my current income...might have to sell the xr8's. But....we both want the lifestyle, deer and surfcasting is plentiful...it's a lifestyle choice so watch this space.

And um...if anyone is interested in a 3 bdrm 90sqm home with a 80sqm shed with mezzanine floor, inbuilt pit with power, houses 4-5 cars....very low maintenance property, 2 neighbours and empty reserve land across the road which cannot be built on, the beach is 500m away across the road then jus sayn lol.
I've got enough money to buy .5 of your cheapest cars as long as the value isn't over 72 bucks. But yeah, you only get one go round. That sounds like a mint plan.

Ah, the classic plan - Buy and pay off in the city, move somewhere cheaper , retire off the difference

Your place is looking pretty tidy now. Must have upped its value and sale appeal. You would get a bit more venny if it wasn't for that gate
Restraint is the better part of dignity. Don't justify getting even. Do not do unto others as they do unto you if it will cause harm.
