Who else is off too the states this year?

Just packing now. leave on Sunday.

Idaho to search for public land Black bear and also got a deer tag which ill be hunting Mule deer on private land.

Heading over with just carry on, have pre bought a pack and thermarest and will buy clothes and knife etc when I get there. Amazing what you can get into carryon luggage if well thought out and lite. Sleeping bag, down jacket, synthetic jacket, raincoat and Half the clothes ill need.

Wish you a great trip, hunt and best of luck. Idaho has a lot of serious hill country and wilderness. Not sure when Bear hibernation statrs but I think you're still OK now.
If you're taking a Bear pelt remove it carefully, the skin can be quite thin. I''ve had guide take a couple of pelts for me in BC, Canada and he cut a few holes without being careless. Take some thin rubber gloves for the skinning - protection against some nasty bugs that can be in the meat.
Hope you get at least one Wolf tag too. There's some big bodied specimems in Idaho. Not easy at all to find Wolves, they can be seen fleetingly but don't tend to hag around unless feeding off a carcase but even then don't always come back every day. My advice if you see a shooter take it immediately 'cos there's no telling when you might see another. Thay have fantastic pelts and it's well worth taking a whole body pelt.
Good numbers of Mule Deer too generally unless harsh Winters have knocked them back a bit. Hope you find a good buck.

Well you had me worried for a second, but I checked and Hibernation in the area we are heading too is usually around mid Nov on. SO I should be Ok.

I’ve just finished my Nevada hunt this morning, had a lion and mule deer tag. Had a great hunt and a hell of an adventure in the high country desert.

Good luck in Idaho. Pretty sure you can use your deer tag on a lion if you see one.
