Here in the States, I like to use dried milkweed pods. You can pull out individual seeds with a whisp of hair on them and let them go in the wind. You can see them for a long ways, so it gives you a better idea of what the wind is doing overall instead of just at your location. This is very helpful when treestand hunting. If mountain hunting I use a wind indicator bottle filled with orange carpenters chalk.
Chalk works really well. Also, Unscented talcum powder. Don’t use the scented stuff, it’ll blow a whole area of game. Unscented works well though, and it’s super cheap.
