Thread: Woodlaw forest, Southland

Anybody got any info/tips for Woodlaw forest?
Will be going for a couple of hunts in december and never been before. Will only be looking for a meat animal and not worried if its red deer, pig or goat (which DOC claims are present).
Any assistance appreciated .

Hey mate how's it going? How do you go about getting in there? Thought you needed to be in the deer stalkers for access?

If you don't mind company I've got a couple of pig dogs.

Dont know about access, but will be in the area December so will hopefully work it out or somebody might assist with info on here. Coming from Whakatane so it will be what it is :-)

you can get access through the forestry if the gates are locked you need to contact Rayonier, plenty of pigs and deer in there never seen any goats though, if your in the area for a few days there are plenty of other places to hunt down here. southwoods are across the way or the deans is just down the road both hold a few deer and piggies.Even nip over to monowai area, let me know how long you'll be in town for we could work somethin out
