    Youth Hunters in NZ - any requirements?

    I am planning a trip to NZ in late the first quarter of 2017. My son, who has a CA Jr. License, will be 9 years old then. Are there any requirements for wee ones in regards to hunting in NZ?

    Assuming they will be "under direct supervision" of a Fire Arms Licence holder at all times then they/you can fill ya boots

    It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
    What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
    Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
    Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
    Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
    Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
    Rule 5: Check your firing zone
    Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
    Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

    My understanding is - Under Direct Supervision means (from a RO's perspective) - within "Arms length" or a distance suitable to correct or stop any action that may be unsafe, and the supervisor should not also be carrying a loaded firearm at the time.
