Yep they work well,can run hypersonic thru them as well.,most can’t .
Thanks for the input. Figured they'd be good. I run DPT on my centre fire rifles and would recommend them to anyone.
Ive put my .223 spartan suppressor on the .22lr for grins and giggles,cant say it quieter than normal manders one but it sure wasnt louder.
the manders ones are bloody awful, wai t till you have a baffle move and get hit by the projectile. it blew the end clear off
hate to pop your bubble but ive had one fitted on my toz17 .22 for nigh on 30yrs now and it has never ,ever given me one iota of trouble.paulus himself did the job -its had 1000s of rounds through that rifle and its a bloody sight quieter than even my airr ifle .had to be for ive had to put more than one of the kids pets down over the years and its done the job.Quote:

The DPT rimfire is a great suppressor.
Parker Hale is another really good one.
I've had a little play building my own with different baffles-a little heavier than I'd like but all steel so....anyway haven't tried supersonics but I have no doubt they would be ok
a little over barrel (maybe 50mm) with a little ported blast chamber ahead of the muzzle with several baffles ahead-one has a couple of K baffles and one has flat jobbies-both pretty quiet but got nothing to compare to. sorry off topic apologies. :P
the trouble with supers is the same as with centrefire...you can trap all the exhaust type gases as subsequent explosion noise but you cant get rid of the supersonic crack caused by projectile going above the sound barrier so no matter how good your can it will only be so quiet before you "hit the wall" so to speak.
well mine lasted well under 500 rounds, went down and bought one of "gundocs" and thats had more rounds thru it than i care to remember with never an issue.Quote:

me and the missus still use WCG's (gundocs). occasionally they get pulled apart and cleaned, dried and reassembled . shooting mate has a DPT, seems pretty good too. but as mentioned earlier it only silences the muzzle blast and will not stop the projectile making a crack if its faster than the speed of sound. however with supersonic ammo the animal isnt quite as sure as where the noise came from.

I have a unique made supressor that came with the rifle, its the moving baffle style. Its super quiet with subs but goes crack with supers as already mentioned. All my 22s are threaded for it. Over 40 years old and still going
My first threadfit silencer I bought 25odd years ago has three sliding chambers which are about 25mm long each and hollowed out like a cup to the rear if the silencer by the muzzle. The rest of the silencer is an open chamber with a spring-the 3 chambers move forward (when they aren't gummed up with soot and crap) towards the front as a moving baffle. pretty quiet. Its in storage at present so cant compare to the ones I've built recently but both of them pretty good too, and at a guess I think they are better.

But my rimfire can is a hushpro only because a mate gave it to me
But if I brought another it would be a dpt

My rimfire hushpro is pretty heavy I reckon its heaver than my dpt over barrel center fire can but never waighed
All 22 cans will be bloody quiet with subs i shot for a couple of years with a 20 buck basic no name thing
With subs through the cz452 all you herd was click as though it misfired then a big thud as the bullet impacted the target
Obviously with a semi they aren’t as quiet as a bolt action as you have the clack clack from the action working
But no matter how good the suppressor is you can’t fix that
I think the only advantage of a good quality 22 can is it will help when shooting supersonic obviously you can suppress the sonic boom because that happens after the bullet leaves the rifle but it will take a bit of the bang out of it and tone it down a little
Just for shits and giggles...
Wrap your .22 Can in a wet tea towel and put it in the freezer over night.
Then screw it on and have a shot.
The difference might supprise you.
I have a DPT rimfire can and highly recommend it. Interesting to hear of people using Rod Woods suppressors. Wish he still made them. Very light, very quiet and a nice slim profile to them.
