Thread: .223 bolt gun to .300 blackout conversion?

A question for those who know more. What would be required to convert a .223 bolt gun to .300 blk? Would it be as simple as a barrel swap?

Usually, yes just swap barrel. But it does depend a bit on what 223 you are starting with.

Yes a barrel change.
But if you’re going to use a CZ527 you will need to source 300 blackout mags or do some milling work to your 223 magazines to allow the projectiles to get past the ribs in the magazine.

It's just about got to be a more logical move if going to rebarrel to go fast twist 223 .with the heaviest projectiles going so well the only real advantages is subsonic....haven't read of anyone trying to get heavy .224 subsonic yet.
