I have only fired the 30-30 single shot I built last week 10 times
Waiting for the suppressor
But all 10 high proof rounds were with the same case and fully resized every time
I was trying to
1 see if case length stretch was going to be an issue .
2 see if I could encourage case web / base separation because there is still a tiny feature of the old 30-06 neck still in the new chamber because if I machined it down to remove entirely the rifle would end up below minimum legal length
3 see if my self made 4 flute chamber reamer was up to spec
None of these things were a problem at all
And when the suppressor arrives I will keep punishing that one case
Also the Baikal 30-30 doesn't yet have an extractor but it doesn't seem to mind
I just tip it up and the spent case drops out as soon as it cools a fraction
So my conclusion is that the 30-30 case is ideal for single shot rifles as is
And the 30-30 AI might not be as good in a rifle with limited extractor power as per most break action single shots
