I used to buy a bottle of Bowmore duty free every time I flew, didn't see it for a while and now it's back with quite a jump in price!

One round in those coffee cups and that's the bottle cut
You really do need to learn a little restraint and drink from smaller glasses
No we used sensible sized glasses.
If I were paying I would have everyone drinking out of thimbles.
    Pity about the rifle.
Recently had a hunter who knows about fine guns. He showed me some pictures of some of his. One being a 470 nitro double.
And he gave me quite a few leads on where to source a 303.
Im trying hard to resist even looking.

I think I've developed a good coping strategy for the disappointment of missing out on something you really wanted.
Buy something a lot better for less $s
And in some cases buy several more better cheaper rifles.

It dulls the pain and so does whiskey

circa 1880-1885 from the style. The fore end being keyed rather than latched dates it.
    Jones lever over guard underlever
Non rebounding hammers and stalking safeties
Bores are mint and a conventional style of rifling
The engraving is superb and the game animals look very nice ( for a change )
It has a very long fine top tang.

It's very pretty, a real looker, but not so practical for hunting.
When I get on to completely relining the case it will look a picture

If he's partial to Irish, then Bushmill's Black Bush is rather decent.

Boss&Co 303 that spent 70 odd years in Japan, story is the rifle was taken as a trophy of War when Singapore fell. Rifle was at Holts Auction and purchased by Boss&Co

    Is three litres enough?

Huntings the same. It’s not about pulling the trigger it’s who you are with and the fond memories.
