About LinkBacksAs you can see from the answers, pretty much anything will work which is the strength of the .308 Winchester, it is incredibly versatile.
FWIW any of the common hunting bullets in ~165 grain will work well out of a 16-18 inch barrel. AR2208, ~2,600 ft./sec, 200m zero. Great bush and open scrubby country setup.
