    I think that when they first came out here the 357 was popular but over time many pig hunters moved to the 44 mag with say 16" barrel.

    Other lever calibers readily available are 45/70 but I don't fancy pulling that trigger in a 4-1/2 lb rifle, or 30/30 if you want a bit more range.

    Often in a 16" barrel but I see sizes ranging from 12" up to 24" in length.
