    6.5-284 opinions

    Hey Guys,

    Whose running one of these? Looking at first hand experiences from a 22-24 inch barrel and either on a long or medium action so projectile seated where it should be.... Have had a few .260ai's before and there seems to be conflicting info on this round but not forming brass would be nice.

    I liked mine, sold it to someone on here, only sold in a moment of weakness or would have kept it. Mine was running 26' trueflight and it was really easy to get it running a good fast load with 140s. Was going over 3000 with 140 amax without breaking a sweat, N560, Lapua Brass, Gold Medal Match primer. Was built on a Rem700 short action so mag length was not ideal for the 140s, I just single fed them anyhow. Another rifle I wish I had the time to love.

    Apart from forming the brass and imo, you won't gain much if anything at all going from 260AI to 6.5-284 in same length barrel apart from possibly increased throat/barrel wear. (Not an issue on a hunting rifle)

    Hey Cam, got one mate, have found it to be very good, now that I have finished the build fully I'm going to be working up 3 loads for it...

    based on a Ruger M77 MkII LA, 22" barrel 1:8 Twist, did have 142 MK doing 2900 but really wasn't in full development, hope to get down to Tech park and see what I can get her to do... More than welcome to view when I get home mate, just drop me a PM. Cheers Craig
