Using the berger calculator i have gotten away with as low as 1.3 stability. That was with the 150 vld in my 270. Shot animals out to 800 yards or so no worries. Grouped about 4-5" at 825 yards. Was a standard tikka t3x
If you can't kill it with bullets, dont f*ck with it.
@Thar what are the Targex worth?
I think @Maxx lives in your general area and he uses them.
Restraint is the better part of dignity. Don't justify getting even. Do not do unto others as they do unto you if it will cause harm.
i would think they would be fine. the 73 is a lot shorter than the 75. its the weight that is the issue with stability not weight. 75s and 80s when going fast enough are fine in 1-8's
i use eldm 75s in my 18inch 1-8 tikka.
Hi there, just noticed this & thought I should chip in that my prices will all be going up approx 10 percent due to jacket prices from the States, our dollar & everything else that is going up.
Have tried to hold them back as long as I could but I'll have to move them or stop making them.
Sorry everyone that gets them off me but doing the best I can for you.
Still a lot cheaper than Berger bullets in NZ & I'm using their jackets to make them for what it is worth.
Cheers, Bryn.
Targex Bullets
Did anyone get results from the 73gr eldm in a 1:9 twist?
I've shot heaps of them in Bergara and Savage 223s, both 1:9 twist and they are great.
Use them and 73 Berger in a 1-10, haven't had any problems but only shot out to 200 meters.
69gr TMK's $89 for 100 at gunworks if you are still looking
When hunting think safety first
I would just try them and see, you will soon see if they are not stabilising on a target. I’m using 80gr targex through a 1-9 with no issues
Use them in my Howa out to 600 yds on range ok, 1:8 supposedly. Have shot same load in my boys savage, 1:9, out to 300m ok. Try them and find out, sample packs of 15 from Gunworks are cheap enough.
