    73gr ELDM in 17.5" 1-9 twist?

Finding a lot of conflicting information as to whether they will be stable. In some of Hornadys own literature they omit twist rate completely and in others it says 1-8 minimum. However JBM has it stable.

I know that length shouldn't be a problem as I believe they are specifically designed to fit AR mags.

Any gurus able to share input?

I use these in my 18in tikka. No issues.
Target at 100mtrs with the 73g ELD m. Shot off to the right is a different weight bullet.

Tikka is a 1:8 twist, subtle difference that would help

Yes these are designed for use in AR mags.

As far as stability goes, you'll just have to try it.
General rule of thumb is usually 1:9 twist are only good up to the 69gr bullets but that isn't gospel.
If the stability calculator says you are ok then give it a ago.

I'm currently working on a load with the 75gr BTHPs in my 18" 1:8.
Am getting around 2750 with either Benchmark 2 or ADI 8208.
    2208 was super slow.

Yeah 73's ran good in both 1:7 and 1:8 AR's.
I tried running them in 1:10 22.250, thought I had a couple of excellent results but then couldn't repeat, so dropped back to 69tmks and were excellent tiny groups.

Getting more revs on with the 22.250 helps to Stabilise vs 223 though.

If it stabilises in the formula they should work as long as you are putting correct numbers in for speed etc.

I was actually being quite conservative as far as speed as currently don't have access to a chronograph.

Guess I will just have to give it a go.

Back in the far off mist we cowboys had firearms with either six or eight inches up front , I see most are cheating now, going for sixteen or even eighteen, shock horror, no more sneaking up just blast them from 50 paces. Lol

I'd just give it a go, the ogive on the 73 is supposed to be a bit more forgiving that's why I tried to get them to go in a 1:10, bit more work may have?

The 69 hpbt Seirra is pretty similar to the tmk, doesn't seem to be any 69 tmks around for a few years now.
