    How do you even get a tikka 284 these days. I thought gunsmiths refused to work on them?

    Some still do, I found 2 when doing mine.

    Dave Ward has done two .284s for me based on factory Tikka 7-08 barrels.

    Easy as - buy a 2nd hand 270, 2506 (long action) Tikka and get a gunsmith to fit new barrel of your choice and chamber to 284
