Although, maybe a shim here might increase the tension on the spring?

The issue is with the extractor claw. Same on some 75s. Gunworks is right. Its a design issue.
It doesn't grip the case rim strongly enough in some rifles. Hitting the scope (in the A7) or the ejector sometimes (in the 75) makes the case come off the extractor claw.
It was 'supposed' to have been fixed in the 85.
My .223 75 drops the case back in unless I'm rough and fast with the bolt.
My .270 75 flings the cases miles. The 06 family is supposed to be the worst, as the extractor is set up for the thicker 08 case rim. Go figure.

The only fix I've seen in the internet is to put the extractor in a vice and very carefuly tap and bend the end over a few micros which then allows the case to be more stronger gripped.
I haven't had the nerve to do this.
Thanks for the input there, interesting that beretta won’t front up tho, but as expected unfortunately...
Pretty sure gunworks mentioned it was the position of the claw itself, but I diddnt dive very far into it probably a combination?
It did leave me flicking the a7, I won’t sell the 85 as its very minor and only leave a brass scuff on the bottom of my windage turret which doesn’t bother me for how bloody accurate the thing is.

Hopefully this gives some other budding hunters abit of a heads up of what to expect in regards to rolling the dice on an a7,85, 75 or just sako in general.

    Cheers

I can't say I noticed this ever happening on my A7 which was in .243. I just checked my friends A7 in 7mm08 and it doesn't hit the turret... and it doesn't happen on my 85 either. I'm just using standard Optilocks on the 85.

In my situation on the a7 I was using Talley lows with my 3-18 vx6hd, and optilock lows (one piece) on my 85 with same scope, it’s the size of the turret that doesn’t help the situation.

I had a blue one in .270 I flicked it purely because I like a ejector port I can put my fingers in to make chambering more controlled /quieter. I spooked a few deer chambering my A7 bloody thing sounded like a cash register. I bought a Sauer 101 way nicer in many ways.

Friends T3 will take a 162 amax, but projectile a reasonable way off the lands, still shot ok though.

My son bought a A7 recently in 7mm Rem Mag and although we have only sighted it in at the range we haven't noticed any issues at all. Early days but seems to shoot well.

Seems like there is good and bad things about them same as most rifles you can buy for that price.

Another thing I can say about the A 7 is that it is heavier than the Tikka but feels so much more robust and solid, probably like comparing the last of the Jap built hilux's to the lightly built crap of today. The A 7 feels so much nicer so if you don't mind a bit of extra weight get the A 7. I have the Tikka T3 light in 7 mm Rem Mag with a Swavo Z 5 scope on it and I love it but I do like the feel of my sons A7 7 mm Rem Mag so I would recommend it over the Tikka. Good luck with your purchase.

Ive got two A7s. Talley low rings. I like the A7 but the ejected case does tend to flop into the action.

I think they are weaver rings, he threw the box away. Sorry I can't say exactly.
